  • Josh Reid Jones with Rae Bonney - April 2023
    2023/05/03

Those who know my work, will be familiar with the sentiment "Be kind, be caring and don't be a @*!#$ - it could be lifesaving" 😍.

In April 2023 I was feeling pretty jazzed, speaking with Josh Reid Jones live, on air at 94.1FM 3WBC. He's a truly remarkable human who's dedicated a life to helping people into just being nice 🥰.

A social impact dynamo, Josh's early life was marked by poverty, violence, and challenging circumstances which, in time, inspired his creation of the The Just Be Nice Project, which, very simply, aims to change the way people help people 👩‍❤️‍👨.

Josh didn't hold back telling about social impact, positive change, equality of opportunity and of course, what if feels like, being Josh Reid Jones.

What does it feel like, being you, today?

  • Dr Peter Larkins with Rae Bonney February 2023
    2023/02/26

He claims to make the best cheeseburgers in Albert Park, and have a massive boy crush on edgy pop singer, Pink - but this guy is iconic for many other reasons 😊

Known fondly, by many, as ‘The Doc’, Dr Peter Larkins is a Melbourne legend when it comes to sports medicine and his many roles in the media.

Born and bred in Geelong, young boy Larkins was a school athletic superstar who never cooled his heels and went on to represent Australia in the steeplechase at the 1976 Summer Olympics, 1982 Commonwealth Games and the 1981 World Cup.

In his spare time, Doctor Larkins managed to collect a few degrees - an honours in medical science as well as Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery – later travelling the world to study sports medicine and then set up a private practice in the 1980s.

Many things led to numerous others, and it was back in 1996 when fellow legend, Eddie McGuire rang to say “I’m doing the footy next year on Triple M and we want you to be part of it”. Peter remained a big personality in footy media until 2018.

Still keen to get behind a mic, he joined me live at 94.1FM 3WBC to talk about what it feels like being Doctor Peter Larkins … 2 hours was not nearly enough time to pay homage to this amazing man.

  • Michael Ray with Rae Bonney - December 2022
    2023/01/05

Michael Ray was thrust into solo dad life at the tender age of 51, and (ironically) the experience opened his eyes to outdated gender expectations which ignited an unbridled passion to advocate for equality and change that includes everyone.

His commitment to parental fairness is fierce, as it is inspiring, and he challenges social narratives to serve our positively evolving communities.

During this show, I helped Michael unpack ideas around misinformed gender roles, when it comes to raising kids, and how societal value/support of ALL parents/carers is so important.

In his very spare time, Michael penned an award winning and widely recognised book “Who Knew?” It celebrates modern day dads, where he openly discusses issues of mental health and ideas for raising our next generation – in light of the wonderful diversity of contemporary families.

What does it feel like, being you, today?

  • Mike Hagan with Rae Bonney - September 2022
    2022/09/24

Earlier this year, I witnessed Mike Hagan speaking about workplace burnout and the need for a systematic approach, at Melbourne’s Managing Burnout and Fatigue in the Workplace Conference. (Me) a fellow speaker and ever curious audience participant, wondered what the General Manager for HR, CC & HS&E of leading global supplier of technology and services at Bosch Australia would have to say about this matter. So ..... if Mike's extensive role description wasn’t mouthful enough, what he had to say (in a very unexpectedly broad, northern English accent) was a head full of awesome and inspiration for everyone in the audience. Later that day, I had my own turn share about burnout, relating to the state of mental health in male dominated workplaces - and that’s when Mike and I truly connected, cemented, collaborated and conspired to conjure up initiatives that could really bring about positive action and change for everyone. Deciding to kick off with a stint on the old radio show, my research quickly uncovered that Mike’s talents, kindness, care and respect for the human condition, extend well beyond his day job (spoiler alert: Rock Star). He joined me, live in the studio to share what it feels like, being Mike Hagan … and so much more.

Remember, it really is OK to not be OK!! What does it feel like, being you, today?
