  • Going Back to Work After Running a Business. Was it worth it?
    2025/06/13

“Should I just get a job?” Let’s talk about it.

If you’re knee-deep in your business or side-hustle, running on passion and caffeine…but the money? Not delivering. This episode is for you.

I bet the financial stress has got you playing with the idea of getting a job. A stable income can start to look dangerously sexy when your creativity is flatlined with the stress of not earning enough money.

But does taking a job mean you’ve failed?

    Only if you let it.

I get it, because I did it. After years of freelancing, bouncing between contracts and running the business, I went back to full-time work–and guess what, it hasn’t killed me.

In this episode, I’m sharing exactly why this move, though kind of embarrassing at first (cue ego battle), turned out to be the smartest, most sanity-saving pivot I could have made.

    You’ll hear:

    • What changed my mind about going back to a 9-5

    • How being around a smart, small team has taught me more than any business course

    • How it gave me back my confidence, clarity and creativity

    • The mindset shift that helped me see this season as strategic, not as a step back

    • Why choosing financial stability for now doesn’t mean giving up, it just means you’re setting yourself up

So, if you’re currently drowning in self-doubt, bank account anxiety and decision paralysis, this is the episode you didn’t know you needed.

And if you’re feeling lost and need some grounding clarity, like yesterday, download the Life GPS–it’ll help you decide whether getting a job is the right move for you right now.

  • Should I Quit My Job and Go 'All In' On My Business? (Part 2)
    2025/05/27

I was living on a tropical island in a $500-a-week shack with frogs in the toilet, tree snakes behind the kettle, and a rotation of backpackers as housemates–whilst trying to “go all in” on my business.

It looked dreamy on Instagram. In reality? It was dreamy, but I was broke, and quietly panicking about how the 'f' I was going to actually reach my financial goals.

This episode is for anyone who’s quit their job, moved cities, or taken a big swing at going 'all in' on their dreams–or are about to.

It’s about what happens when freedom sounds amazing in theory — but you’re exhausted, doubting everything, and not sure how you’re going to pay next month’s rent.

    Inside, I’m sharing:

    • The messy reality of my ‘Magnetic Island era’ — from lost licenses to van life to moving to Noosa, then back to the island (indecisive much)
    • The fantasy of quitting your FT gig vs. the reality of paying your bills
    • The pressure to look like you’ve got it all together online
    • And the moment I realised I’d built a version of freedom that wasn’t actually working for me

If you’re caught in that messy middle–craving more from life but terrified of ending up broke–this one’s for you.

Wanna chat to someone about your messy middle? DM me @danisaidyes, I want to hear what big life decision you're about to make. X

  • Should I Quit My Job and Go ‘All’ In On My Business? (Part 1)
    2025/05/20

Quitting your job without a backup plan isn’t brave—it’s a privilege, and sometimes a fast track to failure.

If you’re a creative, coach or multi-hyphenate who thought quitting your job would lead to freedom... and instead find yourself deep in survival mode with an identity crisis and an empty bank account, this episode is for you.

I’m breaking down the real cost of chasing the dream too soon, why the “just go for it” advice is sometimes complete BS, and what to do when your passion project isn’t paying the rent.

    You’ll walk away with:

    • What I wish I knew before I quit my job to go all in on my business (and why it took me multiple times to learn this lesson)

    • The reality of juggling contract work, coaching clients, and bills piling up

    • How to shift your mindset from “I failed” to “this is part of the process”

    • What to do when your business isn’t making money, but your life keeps moving

    • The shame of pretending you’ve got it ‘all together’ when you’re crumbling inside

    • The truth about the slow, boring (but necessary) path to real freedom

    • Why the “fuck the 9-5” energy doesn’t always pay the bills—and how to make peace with Plan B

If you’re in the thick of it, DM me @danisaidyes. I genuinely want to hear about your messy middle!
