They explore the background of Zoey's mother, Holly Jo Felix, and the legal troubles she faced. They also discuss the dynamics between Holly Jo and Zoe's father, Zeke Felix Guerrera, and the challenges they encountered in providing a stable environment for Zoey.

    The conversation highlights the failures of the child welfare system and the need for change. The hosts share personal insights and interviews with Zeke to provide different perspectives on the case. Mickel Cherry, a man with a history of criminal charges, was living with Holly Jo and Zeke before the death of Zoey Felix. Cherry's past includes disorderly conduct, animal cruelty, and criminal trespass.

    On September 5, 2023, concerned neighbors called the police when Zoe was left home alone with Cherry. Two weeks later, Zeke ordered Cherry and Caitlin to leave their residence.
